I learned a lot about what I can be doing and what I should be doing. I haven't applied much of it yet but I am glad to learn that making small changes will get you where you want to be.

I appreciate the opportunity just to go through the challenge. The encouragement and the positive attitudes that Dr. Troy and all the staff have, and their caring and willingness to help others have a healthier and pain free or less pain life has been a valued experience of the “challenge”.

I've been eating fruit in the mornings and vegetables in the evenings. I'm drinking almond milk instead of whole milk. I'm changing from white bread to wheat bread (I don't like whole wheat or nut breads). I'm drinking more water and in general I'm more aware of food, what's in food, and how it affects the body. I'm excited you're doing another challenge. I will be more prepared and more motivated next time. This was a introduction to healthy living.

I very much enjoyed being part of the 12-Week Challenge at Absolute Life Chiropractic. The nutritional counseling, personal training, and time management workshops were extremely beneficial. Having to concentrate on only one “improvement” are every two weeks, which made the program very easy to follow. There was no stress involved in creating a new and healthy lifestyle!

The Exercise Workshops allowed me to connect with my family by creating and active routine for us all and it was a fun way to have quality family time together, while I was losing weight and feeling better in general. The biggest change I saw was in strength and flexibility.

The Nutrition Workshops were easy to follow and it was amazing that a un-diet could be so enjoyable! Though we all know fast food isn't the best for us, these workshops really provided opportunities for changing habits. Eating like an elephant and looking like a gazelle is becoming second nature, both the workshops and the Body By God book have a lot of variety and can easily fit within a family's lifestyle.

The Time Management and Stress Management learning to plan ahead for daily activities, including morning spiritual time to start off the day, is a great source of energy! Of course it hasn't created more time in the day; I am just utilizing it better. The area of my life that it has most positively affected is actually rest and relaxation. Realizing we need time to recharge and refuel has helped me better balance with the work side of life.

I would definitely recommend the 12-Week Challenge for anyone looking to make positive and lasting changes in their life. These could be weight loss, stress reduction, rehabilitation of aches and pains or simply a little rest and relaxation. The small amount of time invested in the program produced a disproportionately large benefit in my life!

How Body by God has Challenged my Life

I went into this thinking that this was more of a diet plan and a way to live healthier. My expectations have far been exceeded. This has literally changed my life (how cliché!). This is more of a lifestyle change in all facets of life than it was a diet plan. Diet only plays a part of it. While it will be a consistent challenge to break old habits that I have learned, I have been making much headway, in my eyes.

A little background… my family has a history of heart and obesity problems. My grandfather died recently of a heart attack and my uncle, who is in his low 50`s already, has a pacemaker. I also have a son who is allergic to what seems like everything (he has celiac disease – allergic to gluten). I have all the reasons in the world to make a change. My family is the most important thing in the world to me after my relationship with God.

The BBG program has taught me how to eat properly (and more importantly the reasons for eating the way that is prescribed). My family now tries to follow the eating plan (almost religiously). Dairy has been cut out (replaced by almond milk), no pork or bad seafood. We have noticed that we have more energy and I am losing weight (still have a ways to go though, but am confident I will get there).

Another area that I gained knowledge in was working out. You don`t have to spend hours at a time to have a good workout. I also learned the proper way to workout and how to make the most of your time. Working out has recently become a challenge for me due to lack of time, but know I feel that I am equipped to make my workouts worthwhile.

Speaking of time, the time management portion of BBG was not something I expected to come away with. I learned that I have tons of time per week that is wasted or seemingly unaccounted for. I am learning to better schedule my time with God, workout, family and am having less stress as a result. The cool thing is, I am seeing results with my family and getting to spend more time with them instead of watching TV and am spending more quality time with God (with some to spare!)

In closing, I`ve never been one of your better writers and I`m sure my testimonial doesn`t “flow”, but the bottom line is I feel like this has made an impact on my life. I feel like I have been steered in the right direction. Five years from now I will look back on where I am today and see that I am a totally different person. I don`t worry about motivation to change (I have all I need when I look at my family) and I know that if I change 1% a day I will be there (where I want to be).

I know I`m at 502 words now, so better wrap it up. Just want to say thanks to Dr. Troy and friends for taking the time to make a difference in other people`s lives. Glad I ran into you all.
