What is Chiro Care?

Chiropractic is a health care system which directly concerns itself with the nervous system and its relation to the function of the human body. Chiropractors correct vertebral subluxations (vertebrae in the spine which have lost their normal position and are causing interference to the nerve roots and/or spinal cord) which inhibit the body from allowing total health. Chiropractic does not use drugs, medicine, or invasive tools and procedures. Chiropractic is the largest drugless and natural healing profession in the world. Chiropractic is a health care profession which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery.

What education to Chiros have?

Chiropractors attend four-year academic institutions where they receive the same amount of classroom instruction or more as one would in a medical school program. The courses of study for a Doctor of Chiropractic focus on anatomy, physiology, chemistry, neurology, orthopedics, and various other health and biological sciences. In addition, Chiropractic training includes an internship in which the student doctor assists in caring for patients in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of professionals. After graduating from Chiropractic College, a new Doctor must pass national board exams and state license exams before he or she is allowed to practice in that state.

Who can benefit?

Chiropractic is for everybody who wishes to keep themselves healthy and vibrant. As we mature, stresses are put on the body, from work, motherhood, or improper posture, even small injuries or scoliosis from childhood that was never corrected.

No matter your age or occupation, chiropractic is not only for acute injury, it is a way of life. It allows the body to function naturally, as nature intended; to allow it to heal and maintain itself. It is the physical stresses of every day life, from repetitive bending, picking up children, or hard physical labor that can attribute to "dis-ease". Chiropractic is the way to maintain a natural, healthy body.

What is the Chiro Philosophy?

"Chiropractic is a health care profession which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery." Health comes from within, and Chiropractic works with the power within your body to create an abundance of health, vitality, and wellness. Chiropractors know how to examine your spine and care for your nervous system to improve your current state of health and to assist you in reaching your body's full health potential.

The goal of chiropractic is to restore and maintain the integrity of your nervous system by correcting interference to your spine known as vertebral subluxation. The major difference between Chiropractic and traditional western medicine is that medical doctors generally concentrate on relieving the symptom rather than correcting the cause. Chiropractic addresses the cause of the problem, bringing the body back to it's highest state of health.

Why Chiro?

Chiropractic is a science, art and philosophy which concerns itself with the relationship between the nervous system/spinal column and the function of the body's organs, tissues and cells. Science understands that the nervous system is the master control system for your whole body, and therefore the healthier your nervous system, the healthier your body will be.

When there is a mis-alignment to one or more of the vertebrae in your spinal column, known as a vertebral subluxation, pressure and/or inflammation can disrupt the normal flow of information within the nervous system, thus causing degradation of health and vitality.

These subluxations are caused by physical, chemical and mental stress. Research shows that such subluxations are commonly caused as early as birth and can continue throughout one's lifetime.

Only Doctors of Chiropractic are trained to locate and correct Vertebral Subluxations.
