Healing Diet
The common diet today is an acidic – inflammatory type of diet. Recent research has proven that inflammation is the key cause of heart disease, cancer, joint disease, and the other diseases of aging.
An example of this is cholesterol. We've been taught (by people selling cholesterol lowering drugs) that cholesterol causes heart disease. However, there is no research to back that up. That's why in all of the cholesterol drug ads and labels it has to say, "Has not been found to lower the risk of or prevent heart disease." Which is a wild disclaimer given that we're given these drugs because of fear of heart disease.
The problem with cholesterol, and many, many other factors is inflammation. If you have an inflammatory system, cholesterol can become like lighter fluid. It's not the cause of heart disease so research can't really link the two and make heart claims on the drug labels, but it is part of what can be an inflamed cardio-vascular system.
The following is a brief explanation of an ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DIET.
Acidic – Inflammatory diets: The tissues and organs of the body tend to flourish in a more basic pH environment versus a more acidic pH environment. Being acidic is just as threatening as it sounds. You are literally burning, boiling, or INFLAMING your cells. The typical, modern diet of flour, dairy products, sugar, meat, and processed foods creates high levels of acid in the body. (Normally your kidneys attempt to keep the body by God basic/alkaline by eliminating excess acids. However, regular consumption of acid-producing foods will result in an acid level too high for the kidneys to manage efficiently.)
To reduce acid levels, the body needs to add bases. Bases neutralize or reduce the dangerous acid effect. When acid levels get too high, the body must attempt to neutralize these acids by dumping some bases into the blood stream. The best acid neutralizers in the body are calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate from bones. These bone elements are exemplary bases for counteracting dietary acids. As a result, bone is washed away in a pool of acid leading to bad, painful joints. Other effects of acidic blood include organ disruption and brain and artery damage and decay.
ACID PRODUCING FOODS: Non-organic, pasteurized dairy products, flour, sugar, and caffeine are some of your most significant acid-producing culprits. Additionally, all animal products create acid in the system. Although they are foods by God, whole grains and fruits are also acid-producing and so should be eaten only as recommended. Acid foods are also your fungal and yeast producing foods.
GOOD –ALKALINE/BASIC FOODS: Vegetables are incredibly good at creating a more basic environment- ADD ALL YOU CAN. Other good acid-neutralizing foods are fats like almonds, avocados, olive oil, and SEE BELOW. Drinking a lot of alkaline water is also an essential part of creating a healthy, basic bodily environment.
FUNGAL, ACID PRODUCING FOODS TO AVOID:
Alcohol, Corn, Peanuts, Cashews, Pasteurized Dairy, Wheat, Sugar, Rye, Barley, Sorghum, Cottonseed
INFLAMMATORY FATS TO AVOID:
Commercial animal products Any vegetable, nut, seed oil (Soy, Canola, Sunflower, cottonseed, peanut, etc.) Any hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oil
GOOD FATS TO CONSUME (ANTI-INFLAMMATORY FATS):
Fish oil capsules, Flax seeds, extra-virgin olive oil, extra-virgin coconut oil, avocado, walnuts, almonds, almond butter, raw-organic butter, primrose oil capsules, cod-liver oil
Once again, our modern, scientific lifestyle is to blame. When compared to the population, I've found Chiropractic patients are the healthiest in the world. Healthier spinal cords, anti-inflammatory diets, less drugs -makes sense.
